[TOPIC WRITING]"Describe five great things about the ocean."

 Do you like the ocean? Then, can you describe five great things about the ocean? I think five great things about the oceans are resources, trade, animals, water, and movement.

Oceans are great for the resources that it gives to us, there are a lot of minerals that are hidden below the ocean. And those resources can make our lives better in many ways, those minerals can be used to make batteries for electric cars, making electric devices, etc. Also, there are a lot of these minerals under the ocean, because the ocean is so large and deep.

Oceans are great for trade because oceans provide us with other ways for us to trade things with people in different areas. If there weren't oceans, we would have only traded through the land, and that would have slowed our technologies to become better. And people might even don't know that there are other places.

Oceans are great because of marine animals because we discover them and find where they might be useful. There are so many species of marine animals, but we only know 3% of marine animals. So, there are a lot of marine animals, and some of those marine animals provide us with food to eat. And their abilities can help us to improve our technologies.

Oceans are great for water in the oceans because if there weren't oceans, the Earth might have been a planet with a very little amount of water. And there will be only very deep valleys next to continents, and there will be a lot of volcano eruptions in those valleys. Also, those volcano eruptions can affect us in many ways.

Oceans are great for movement because before there were airplanes like now, people moved through continents with ships. And people might have not known about other continents, and those continents will be separated from other continents for a long period of time. When those continents contact each other, many people will die from diseases that are from each continent.

 What do you think about garbage disposal? Then, do you think garbage disposal should not be free to encourage recycling (example: Switzerland)? I think many poeple already recycle things that they want to use again, so I think there is no need to make garbage disposal not become free to encourage people to recycle things. People need to dispose of their garbage anyway, and there are things that you can't recycle. So, it might not be fair to people who recycle a lot of things and need to dispose of non-recyclable garbage. And some people might try to dispose of their garbage in trash cans in public places to avoid paying for the disposal of garbage. Then, there will be tons of garbage in public trash cans, and it will be bad for people who own buildings that have public trash cans since they would need to pay money in order to dispose of other people's garbage. So, there can be a lot of problems if the government starts to make people pay money in order to dispose of their garb...
