 Are you multilingual? Then, do you think foreign language instruction should begin in kindergarten? I think it would be okay to begin foreign language instruction in kindergarten because of many reasons. The first reason is many pieces of research say that it is much easier to learn languages when we are young, so it would be easier for kindergarteners to learn a new language than learning a new language when they are older. The second reason is learning a foreign language can help students to increase their grades in other subjects, and if a student already knows how to speak several languages, then the student's grades would be better than students who are monolingual. The third reason is learning a foreign language at a young age would make a student speak a foreign language as a native speaker faster than learning a foreign language as a hobby. However, some people claim that learning a foreign language in kindergarten would make kindergarteners forget both the languages; kindergarteners' original language, and the language the kindergarteners are learning. This case could be true for kindergarteners, but most kindergarteners would learn a foreign language and will not forget their first language. So, there are more advantages than disadvantages to beginning the foreign language instruction in kindergarten, but some schools are already beginning the foreign language instruction in kindergarten. And it's good for students to learn a foreign language because of the reasons that I explained above and other reasons.

The conclusion is I think foreign language instruction should begin in kindergarten, because it is much easier to learn a new language when we are young, learning a foreign language can help to increase the grades on other subjects, and it will take much less time to learn a foreign language.
