 What do you think about the relationship between unhealthy foods and obesity? Then, do you think taxes should be imposed on unhealthy foods to combat obesity? I think it would be okay to impose taxes on unhealthy foods because it is people's choice that they are choosing to eat unhealthy foods, but if they choose to eat them too much, then they would be obese. And if many people become obese, there won't be enough people to work well in different kinds of jobs. Also, when people get obese they would start to get other health problems, and they would not be healthy enough to do some kinds of jobs. If many poeple can't do jobs, the economy is likely to fail. So, these are basic reasons why I think it would be okay to impose taxes on unhealthy foods.

Problems of imposing taxes on unhealthy foods might be that some poeple would not know that taxes have been imposed on unhealthy foods at first, but they would know them after they bought unhealthy foods. And people like unhealthy foods, and they would just choose to eat unhealthy foods even though taxes have been imposed on unhealthy foods. The ways to solve these problems are that restaurants that sell unhealthy foods can put up a sign that taxes have been imposed on unhealthy foods. And for poeple who would just eat unhealthy foods, we can persuade them to try healthy foods for their health. This way might work or not, but it might be worth it.

However, some people might say that most people who eat unhealthy foods do not have obesity. Well, this is true, but we don't know if you are going to get obese someday. Also, it would be better to prevent getting obese since it would be better if you never get obese. But some people might say that this would be bad for shops that sell unhealthy foods since fewer people would decide to buy unhealthy foods. This might be true, but these shops would have other products to sell, and some people would still choose to eat unhealthy foods. Well, the problems that I named would be solved.
