[TOPIC WRITING]"The pros and cons of plastic."

 New technologies make an impact on our lives. These technologies impact us in both positive and negative ways. I believe the pros and cons of plastic are weight, pollution, time, etc.

One of the pros of plastic is that it is super light. If the material is light, it would be easier for people to carry them and use them more. For example, if the water bottle is made out of steel, it will be harder for people to carry them while it would be easier for poeple to carry plastic water bottles. Another pro of plastic is that it is easy to manipulate. If the material takes less energy to manipulate, it will be easier for factories to mass-produce them. For example, it is harder for factories to mass-produce wood materials than plastic materials. While there are pros to plastic, there are a lot of cons to plastic.

The major con of plastic is that it takes a long time to decompose. If a material takes a long time to decompose, the material will cause pollution whether people wish it or not. For example, it takes longer time for plastic to decompose than paper. Another con of plastic could be that it is very popularized. If something is everywhere, it will require more effort to make something disappear. For example, a lot of things have or use plastics, this means if people are trying to get rid of plastics, it will require more effort. Now, do the cons of plastic have a more significant impact than the pros of plastic, or vice versa?

Pros and cons help people determine if something has more advantages or disadvantages. I believe that the cons of plastic have a greater impact than the pros because of pollution. Pollution is not a problem that can be solved in one decade, so it is important to get rid of the factors that are causing pollution.

Thus, I believe the pros and cons of plastic are the weight of plastic, the pollution that plastic causes, and the time it takes to manufacture plastic. This shows that there are a lot of pros and cons of plastic, and they show if it has more advantages or disadvantages.

 What do you think about garbage disposal? Then, do you think garbage disposal should not be free to encourage recycling (example: Switzerland)? I think many poeple already recycle things that they want to use again, so I think there is no need to make garbage disposal not become free to encourage people to recycle things. People need to dispose of their garbage anyway, and there are things that you can't recycle. So, it might not be fair to people who recycle a lot of things and need to dispose of non-recyclable garbage. And some people might try to dispose of their garbage in trash cans in public places to avoid paying for the disposal of garbage. Then, there will be tons of garbage in public trash cans, and it will be bad for people who own buildings that have public trash cans since they would need to pay money in order to dispose of other people's garbage.
